Managed account portfolios are designed to meet client needs while allowing the portfolio manager flexibility to adjust to fluctuating market conditions.

With a managed securities account, securities are owned by the client in their account. Clients receive trade confirmations, monthly statements, quarterly account performance reports; and, from the companies held in accounts, annual reports and company stockholder communications.

Kornfield Investment Management emphasizes three categories of actively managed portfolios:

  • Growth
  • Growth and income (Balanced)
  • Income

For Growth accounts, our primary focus is to achieve long-term capital appreciation through equity (common stock) investments. We are primarily involved with USA companies; however, we do include international investments via mutual funds and individual securities.

The objective of Income accounts is to accumulate a portfolio of individual bonds to construct a ladder of successive maturities. These may include, for example, corporate bonds, municipal bonds, CDs, Treasury instruments, and/or money market instruments. We feel this helps to maximize income while diversifying interest rate risk.

Income and Growth accounts may include, for example, dividend paying stocks, preferred stocks, and individual bonds. Our philosophy seeks to achieve growth and income via a concentrated selection of securities from a diverse group of industries.

Portfolio accounts may also include mutual funds and other investment vehicles.

Note: mutual fund, annuities, and other investment securities including stocks, are not FDIC insured, and are subject to investment risks, including possible loss of principal amount invested. This is not an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security. We are not accountants or attorneys, please consult with your specific legal and tax professionals.
